This is a collection of photographs taken on locations on roads coming into Hereford at the same time of day but comparing term time congestion and holiday time traffic. Here for Hereford would like the Council to investigate more closely how congestion in Hereford could be tackled just by considering the impact of the “school run”. The work the Council have already done indicates that school traffic can increase traffic volumes from 23% to 52% on some radial routes into Hereford. Tackling term time cars could have a bigger impact on reducing congestion in the city centre than the “relief road” and could be achieved more cheaply and within the next few years rather in 20 years time.In addition it would promote healthier choices for travel and could improve child obesity rates in the city.
